The Houston Texans are celebrating the diverse backgrounds of eight players taking part in the NFL Heritage Program this season. The initiative allows players to wear international flag decals on their helmets, showcasing family ties and honoring cultures that have helped shape their journeys.
For Texans fans, it's a chance to see the team's diversity shine on gameday — and to learn more about the roots that inspire some of Houston's most recognizable names.

WR Braxton Berrios will represent Puerto Rico, honoring his family's ties to the island.

Two Texans, DE Danielle Hunter and G Laken Tomlinson, will showcase their Jamaican roots. Both players were born in Jamaica before moving to the United States.

DT Haggai Ndubuisi, the Texans' International Pathway Program player, will represent Nigeria as he continues his inspiring journey from Lagos to the NFL. He's joined by veteran RB Dare Ogunbowale who is also representing Nigeria.

DT Junior Tafuna and LB Henry To'oTo'o will represent Tonga, while To'oTo'o will also carry the Samoan flag alongside DT Tommy Togiai, highlighting the strong Polynesian tradition in football.
More Than Football
The Heritage Program goes beyond decals — it's about identity, storytelling, and connecting with fans around the world. The initiative is part of the NFL's ongoing efforts to celebrate international communities and highlight the worldwide influence of the sport. Texans players will display their flags during practices, games, and community outreach events throughout the month.
