Deshaun Watson and the Texans didn't waste any time getting back into the game.
Trailing 7-0 at Jacksonville, less than a minute into the opening quarter, Watson found Brandin Cooks over the middle. Cooks zigged-and-zagged his way to a 57-yard touchdown, and the Ka'imi Fairbairn extra point squared the game at 7-all.
The Cooks score was just the second play of the drive, as David Johnson burst for an 18-yard gain on the opening snap.
Cooks scored a touchdown the last time these two squads played, and he wound up with eight catches for 161 yards. It's also Cooks' sixth reception of 20 yards or more this year versus the Jaguars.
It was the first opening-drive touchdown for the Texans offense since Week 17 last season against the Titans. AJ McCarron was the quarterback in that contest. The last time Watson and the offense found the end zone on the first possession of the game was at Denver in Week 9 of the 2018 season.
