Starving for a win, and a looking for a spark on offense, the Texans scored three fourth quarter touchdowns en route to a 26-0 win over Tennessee.
For a long time in this game, the Houston attack wasn't able to fire on all cylinders, only producing two field goals. The Titans got in range twice and missed both times. Until the fourth quarter, you'd have to call this a defensive struggle.
Then lightning struck in the final frame.
The Texans started the first of three scoring possessions on their 18-yard line, driving to their 41 before committing back to back offensive penalties. All of a sudden, it was second down and 33 and it looked like another drive would stall.
Then, C.J. Stroud found Nico Collins for 37 yards and the Texans were cooking in Titans territory. Five plays later, Stroud would hit Woody Marks, who ran the ball into the endzone for his first career touchdown.
A Derek Stingley Jr. pick gave the Texans great field position to eventually cash in with Jayden Higgins' first TD on a 24-yard pass from an in-rhythm Stroud.
Marks' second TD came after a takeaway-on-downs, capping the scoring for the afternoon.
Stroud was sacked only twice. He's 8-2 in his last ten games in which he's sacked less than three times. His 125.1 QB rating is his highest since the 2023 week 18 thriller at Indy.
The shutout is the first for Houston since the 2010 win over the Titans, otherwise known as the 'Courtland Finnegan game.'
