Wednesday scattershots

As you've likely heard by now, quarterback Matt Schaub found out late Tuesday night that **he'll play in the Pro Bowl on January 31**. He was originally the second alternate. Ben Roethlisberger was the 1st alternate, and is injured. Then last night, Pro Bowl reserve Tom Brady bowed out due to injury. So congrats to Matt: he's headed to Miami with Andre Johnson, DeMeco Ryans, Brian Cushing and Mario Williams.

Don't forget: tomorrow 12:30-1:30 p.m. central, Texans tight end Joel Dreessen will take part in a live chat. He'll answer your questions about catching passes, blocking, The Ultimate Warrior, hunting and more. Just click **here** to ask them.

We continue to review the 2009 season, position-by-position, and today **we focus on the running backs**. There's also a nice **highlights video**, some **soundbytes** from Ryan Moats and Arian Foster on locker-cleanout day, and a **slideshow **to boot.

The NFL Draft is one day closer--Round 1 is Thursday, April 22--and John McClain **ponders what the Texans might do**.

Also, Texans scouts are in Florida this week observing players at the East-West Shrine game. The Sporting News **checks out some of the prospects there**.

We'll be in Mobile next week for the Senior Bowl.

Mock Drafts are always fun. **Bucky Brooks of NFL.com has his**, and he thinks the Texans will take Earl Thomas, a safety for the Longhorns.
