Fans will be back in NRG Stadium this Sunday afternoon, and the Texans' annual Pink Ribbon Day presented by Kroger is the game theme.
Every year, the Texans have this theme to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Texans are celebrating individuals and loved ones who've been affected by all forms of cancer.
You'll see pink throughout the stadium, as many players will don pink cleats, wear pink wristbands, and pink ribbons, and parts of the field and goalposts will have pink ribbons and pink painted on them.
Houston Texans Co-Founder and Senior Chair Janice McNair will be the coin toss captain, and former Houston Texans defensive end Devon Still and his daughter Leah will be the Homefield Advantage Team Captains. McNair is a breast cancer survivor, will the younger Still is a cancer survivor as well.
Last year's Pink Ribbon Day was one of, if not the, most memorable Pink Ribbon Days in team history. It doubled as Founders Day, as the Texans honored the late Bob McNair, who was the team Co-Founder and Chairman. Houston erupted for 53 points in the 53-32 pounding of Atlanta. Receiver Will Fuller, V caught three touchdown passes and finished with a career-best 14 catches for 217 yards. Quarterback Deshaun Watson was nearly flawless, tossing for five scores and completing 28-of-33 passes for 426 yards in the blowout.
Look back at the Texans' 2019 home win against the Atlanta Falcons for the Pink Ribbon game at NRG Stadium and the induction of Robert C. McNair into the Ring of Honor establishing the first ever Founders Day.
