Food, fun, fitness and football education… what more could a woman want?

These festivities and more took place during the Battle Red Ladies Football 101 event at the Verizon West Club on Monday evening. Club members enjoyed dinner and beverages while listening to Texans head strength and conditioning coach Craig Fitzgerald, Texans nutritionist Stephen Smith and Texans analyst John Harris explain the ins and outs of their respective fields.

Fitzgerald gave a general overview of the team's fitness goals and weight room routine while Smith talked food, health and players' diet plans. Texans Ambassador and emcee for the night J.J. Moses kept the mood light by fielding questions from the crowd. One of which brought a fit of laughter to the guest speakers.

"I've been wondering this for a while," Denise of the Battle Red Ladies asked from the audience. "What do the players do during the game when they have to tinkle?"

After the health and nutrition segment, Harris took the stage for a lesson in football terms, game plan schemes and beginner's strategy.

"The Battle Red Ladies were just fantastic," Harris said. "I've taught football to a bunch of different individuals but never was it more fun and interactive as it was for this event. I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did."

For the second half of the evening, the ladies transition over the Houston Methodist Training Center for drills and an autograph session with tight end Garrett Graham.

"Tonight was a blast," Club member Blondie Wokeme said of the event. "I got to dress up in all my Texans gear, and we have an undefeated start to the season which is awesome and means free slushies.

"I just love my Texans. That's my team."
