Bucs go up 17-0 in closing seconds of first half

The Buccaneers took a 17-0 lead over the Texans with 0:22 left in the second quarter. Here's how it happened:

The drive: 4 plays, 16 yards, :46. Ended with a three-yard touchdown pass from Rudy Carpenter to Arrelious Benn.

The score: On second-and-goal from the three, Carpenter lofted a pass to Benn in the end zone near the right sideline. Rookie cornerback Sherrick McManis was covering Benn on the play.

The set-up: For the second time in the first half, Texans quarterback Dan Orlovsky was picked off by Bucs safety Corey Lynch. Lynch returned the first one 91 yards for a touchdown. This one, which came with 1:20 left in the second quarter, Lynch returned 28 yards to the Houston 16-yard line. The Bucs picked up one first down and scored two plays later.

The big play: A nine-yard pass from Carpenter to Benn on the first play of the drive.
