BWTB: Questions at the top

!
Two years ago, the Colts were coming off a horrendous season and 'earned' the number one pick in the draft. It was almost unanimous among the draft 'experts' that they should take Andrew Luck. If they didn't, they would have grabbed Robert Griffin. Both QBs were in the playoffs their rookie season.

Here are the Texans with the number one pick and opinions widely vary on what they should do with it. Almost every national media pundit polled here at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis agrees that there is no projected Andrew Luck in this draft. No 'sure thing' going in.

In fact, I could be talked into believing that Teddy Bridgewater is probably the highest rated QB on most teams' boards currently and he probably doesn't rate higher than 5th on those boards.

That's not to say that he or Johnny Manziel or Blake Bortles won't turn out to be fantastic. It's just where they are pegged right now. And keep in mind that most NFL coaches are just getting a handle on the draft eligible players. Coaching staffs have been spending most of their post season time evaluating their own rosters and potential free agents.

Those of you who would like the Texans to trade down have to ask yourself what player trade partners would be targeting with the number one pick. Most of you are thinking quarterback but the answer that comes back to me most often from NFL national media is Jadaveon Clowney. In fact, there is a large contingent of 'experts' who really feel the Texans should grab Clowney and deal with the quarterback situation later.

Easier said than done.
