DeAndre Hopkins won't play vs. Saints

DeAndre Hopkins will not play Sunday afternoon against the Saints. The Texans' rookie wide receiver suffered a concussion in Saturday's preseason win over the Dolphins, and is still going through the NFL's concussion protocol.

"We have not moved forward," head coach Gary Kubiak said of Hopkins' journey through the different stages of the protocol. "We're still at Phase 1."

Hopkins was on the practice field Thursday, but didn't take part in any drills. He was concussed in the first half Saturday night at Reliant Stadium.

On Thursday afternoon, Kubiak also said that Hopkins will not play versus New Orleans.

"He feels about the same, so obviously he is not going to play this week," Kubiak said. "He's ruled out this week. He's doing better, but the process has not moved past stage one."
