Dear Drew: Extended written New Year's edition

Drew Dougherty was flooded with fan questions via Facebook, and answered a few in the video above. He answered some more in the article below. Have a Happy New Year and please stick with your resolutions, as long as they're not harmful to you, the ones you love, or others.

Josh Arnoldy: Dear Drew, Do you think there will be some heavy trade action in the draft since we have nothing until the 3rd round?
DD: That wouldn't surprise me, Josh. The Texans have a pair of 3rd rounders, and will likely get another compensatory pick because of how well A.J. Bouye has played in Jacksonville. They also have a second 2nd-rounder in 2019, which could also be used as ammo to move up this year. But they might like what they do in free agency, stand pat, and roll with what they have.

Brad Wulfe: Dear Drew, Will we see Deshaun Watson back before training camp?
DD: That's a pretty good bet, Brad. By all accounts, his rehab from a knee injury is progressing nicely, and he's in good spirits. Even if he's ready this spring, the Texans might hold him back in May and June and wait to let him do work on the field at training camp.

Randy McOffer Raze: Hey Drew You think the Texans will EVER win again or even TRY? Most know they just show up for the preformance like an Actor in a Movie for the Millions $ The fans are Like Movie goers
DD: Wut?

Daniel Fuentez: Dear Drew, with one game left what are your plans during the offseason and do you expect big changes ahead for the Texans?
DD: I'm working, Daniel. Just like the regular season. You can count on a Dear Drew just about every week from here till camp. As far as changes go, sure, you'll see quite a bit of turnover, like every NFL offseason.

Mark Freeman: Dear Drew, How can we get quality O-Line play?
DD: According to head coach Bill O'Brien, some of the younger offensive linemen looked good in extended playing time last Sunday. Rookie Julién Davenport started at left tackle and played well. Fellow rookie Kyle Fuller got more playing time and impressed O'Brien as well. David Quessenberry's NFL debut came more than four years after he was drafted, but O'Brien liked what he saw. Add in center Nick Martin, who's on injured reserve with a leg injury, and the future is intriguing up front.

I would also expect the Texans to add help on the line in free agency and the Draft.

Derwin Jordan: Dear Drew, Will we be returning to the Greenbrier, and can we have a 4-square championship at JJ'S cabin?
DD: Yes, the Texans are returning to West Virginia for training camp. There are no cabins there. I imagine 4-square will be played.

Samantha Hallas: Dear Drew, Which current Texans are going to be free agents?
DD: There are 14 players who will be unrestricted free agents. The most notable names are CB Johnathan Joseph, P Shane Lechler, QB Tom Savage and RB Alfred Blue.

I-Min Michael Mau: Dear Drew, are you a qualified unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant?
DD: No. And I'm also not a masseur.

Derwin Jordan: Dear Drew, What's Derek Newtons status and how many compensatory picks will we have?
DD: Derwin, Newton is on the comeback trail. We see him in the building on a daily basis, and he's been rehabbing his knee injuries. As far as the compensatory picks go, that won't get announced until later this winter.
