Texans first and last road trips are 2,740-mile flights to Los Angeles

*EDITOR'S NOTE: A similar version of this article was published in January.

The Texans first, and final, road trips of the 2025 NFL Regular Season are to Los Angeles.

The NFL Schedule Release was Wednesday evening, and the Texans open 2025 with a Week 1 showdown at SoFi Stadium against the NFC West Champion Rams. The last road journey of the regular season is Week 17 in the same venue versus the Chargers.

Ultimately, the air mileage is increasing for the Texans this year, as opposed to 2024.

The Texans will fly 17,602 air miles, round trip, from Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) this fall. They fly United Airlines to all road games.

Last regular season, the Texans flew 16,532 miles, and their all-time highest mileage came in 2019 when they logged 21,312 miles roundtrip. That year, they won games in Los Angeles against the Chargers and in London versus the Jaguars.

Two road games (Chiefs and Titans) will take place in the central time zone, while the Texans play three games apiece in the Eastern (Ravens, Colts and Jaguars) and Pacific (Chargers, Rams and Seahawks) time zones. Five of the Texans nine road games last season were in the central time zone, and Houston didn't travel west of Arlington (Cowboys) for any of those contests.

The shortest road trip this fall is the Week 14 journey to Kansas City, and the longest is the Week 7 flight to Seattle for the matchup with the Seahawks. The latter trip is nearly 2,500 miles more than the former.
