Duke Johnson TD run gets Texans a lead on opening series

The Texans put together an impressive opening drive in Week 17 against the Titans and took a 7-0 lead with 7:25 left in the first quarter.

Duke Johnson hammered it in for a 1-yard touchdown, getting in the end zone on the 15th play of the possession. With AJ McCarron at quarterback, Houston marched 75 yards in 7:35 seconds. He completed 4-of-7 pass attempts for 50 yards and the Texans ground game rushed eight times for 25 yards.

Houston went for it on 4th-and-1 at the Tennessee 2-yard line, as Buddy Howell got the yard needed for a fresh set of downs. Johnson scored on the next play, and the Texans had their first opening-drive touchdown of the season.

For Johnson, it was his fifth touchdown of 2019, and second rushing score of the season.

It's McCarron's first regular season start since Week 17 of 2015, when he guided the Bengals to a win over the Ravens in Cincinnati.
