Fantasy picks: Week 13

This week's Home Team Challenge winner will take home a football autographed by Andre Johnson.

In Week 13 of the **Home Team Challenge**, the free fantasy football game with great prizes on HoustonTexans.com, the winning player will take home a football autographed by Texans Pro Bowl wide receiver Andre Johnson.

Here's my weekly fantasy advice, with a few players I like and a few players I don't.

PRICE IS RIGHT

RB Marshawn Lynch, BUF, 46 points (vs. SF): Lynch has come on strong in the last two weeks, rushing for 198 yards and a touchdown in that time span. He has 710 yards and seven touchdowns this season. He also is a capable pass catcher, with 42 receptions for 282 yards and touchdown this year. Buffalo's offense is hot right now after scoring 54 points last week against Kansas City. This week, Lynch faces a 49ers defense that is giving up 103.8 rushing yards a game.

VALUE PICK

QB Tyler Thigpen, KC, 39 (@ OAK): A lot can be said of Thigpen's play this year. While he has yet to win a game as a starter, it isn't because Thigpen hasn't been able to score points. Through nine games played this season, he has passed for 1,577 yards and 13 touchdowns with seven interceptions. Thigpen threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns in last week's loss to Buffalo and is up against another struggling team this weekend in the Oakland Raiders.

TE Kevin Boss, NYG, 16 (@ WAS): Boss is far from the league lead among tight ends in receptions or yards, but he leads all NFC tight ends with five touchdown receptions after scoring in four of his past five games. He has 23 receptions for 265 yards this season and lately has been targeted more by Giants quarterback Eli Manning, especially in the red zone. Last week against Arizona, Boss posted 48 yards and a touchdown. He should continue to get looks near the goal line this week and beyond.

NOT WORTH IT

QB Jay Cutler, DEN, 67 (@ NYJ): Statistically speaking, Cutler has a pretty good matchup this week going against a Jets defense that is giving up 239.4 passing yards per game this season. But Cutler has had good matchups for the past two weeks and came out of those games with a combined 420 yards and one touchdown. If he continues the way he's been playing, it would be best to sit him this week.

SLEEPER SPECIAL

WR Laveranues Coles, NYJ, 30 (vs. DEN): Coles has 53 receptions for 613 yards and six touchdowns this season. Last week against the stingy Tennessee Titans defense, Coles posted 88 yards and a touchdown. He should find yards to come by a bit easier this week as he faces Denver's 25th-ranked pass defense, which is giving up 239.4 passing yards per game.

TEXANS FANTASY STARTER OF THE WEEK

TE Owen Daniels, HOU, 21 (vs. JAC):Daniels ranks fourth among tight ends in the NFL in receptions (48) and receiving yards (583). His production has been down for the last few weeks, but a nationally-televised matchup on Monday Night Football could be a cure for that. The Jaguars' defense is only giving up 204.9 passing yards per game and will probably be giving a lot of attention to wide receivers Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter, who both had big games last week against the Cleveland Browns. If that's the case, Daniels should see his share of passes and have a big game.
