Linebacker Zac Diles missed his second consecutive practice on Friday with an illness. Diles was sent to the hospital on Thursday to receive fluids and remained there during Friday's practice.

"Zac is still not feeling better," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said. "Hopefully, he will be released sometime this afternoon from the hospital if everything's OK, and my expectations are that he'll be ready to go (on Sunday)."

Kubiak said that Diles started feeling sick during meetings on Thursday morning. If Diles can't play against the Jets, rookie linebacker Darryl Sharpton would start in his place on the weakside. Xavier Adibi, back from a hamstring injury, also could contribute to the linebacker rotation.

Schaub clearKubiak declared quarterback Matt Schaub "ready to go" after Schaub took his normal load in practice on Friday. Schaub was hospitalized Tuesday for a bursa sac issue in his right knee. He was limited in practice on Thursday.

"He did everything today, took everything he does on Friday, so he's fine," Kubiak said. "Everything responded good yesterday."

Daniels outTight end Owen Daniels was ruled out of Sunday's game. Daniels has been out since Nov. 1 at Indianapolis as he rehabs his injured left hamstring back to full strength.

"O.D. did field work this week, so that's a positive, but he's still got a ways to go," Kubiak said. "He's not going to be ready this week, and we'll see where he's at next week."

Tight ends Joel Dreessen and James Casey will step in for Daniels again this week.
