Garrett Graham, Brad Smelley miss Thursday's practice

As was the case Wednesday, the Texans practiced again on Thursday without tight end Garrett Graham or fullback Brad Smelley. With tight end Owen Daniels still on injured reserve with a designation to return, the only tight end on the 53-man roster is rookie Ryan Griffin.

"The injuries are pretty much the same," interim head coach Wade Phillips said. "Everybody that I said yesterday would practice did practice. Garrett Graham did not practice again today."

Graham is nursing a hamstring injury that forced him to miss Sunday's loss at Indianapolis. Phillips

wasn't optimistic about Graham's availability for this Sunday's contest versus the Broncos.

"It's similar to last week and he didn't play last week," Phillips said. "It's not looking good from that standpoint. Now, Brad Smelley didn't practice today either. He's the one that had a bad back yesterday. We're hoping he's going to get better by game time. He's iffy right now."

The club signed tight end Phillip Supernaw to the practice squad on Tuesday. He was with the franchise on the practice squad last season.
