Gary Kubiak intends to coach from sideline vs. Pats

Gary Kubiak has coached the last two games from a booth high atop Reliant Stadium. On Sunday against the Patriots, however, he's aiming for a return to the sidelines.

"I have every intention of being on the field," the head coach said after Wednesday's practice.

Kubiak collapsed on the field during the Week 9 loss to Indianapolis, and was hospitalized because of a transient ischemic attack (TIA). He stayed home when the Texans played in Arizona in Week 9, and was up in the booth in successive games against the Raiders and Jaguars.

While he hasn't been cleared fully by doctors, he's optimistic that Sunday at noon he'll be back down with the team.

"I hope so," Kubiak said. "I think I've got probably a better chance than I had last week. That's the way I'd answer it right now."
