The Texans' 2013 schedule features four nationally-televised games, beginning on Monday Night Football at the San Diego Chargers in Week 1 as part of the NFL's opening-weekend Monday night doubleheader.

The Texans play on Sunday Night Football at the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers in Week 5 and at Reliant Stadium against their division rival Indianapolis Colts in Week 9. They have a Thursday night divisional game at the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14. Their bye is in Week 8.

The back-to-back AFC South champions have two games that kick off at 3:25 p.m. CT: at the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10 and at home against the AFC East champion New England Patriots in Week 13. The rest of their games are on Sundays at noon. Home games against the Patriots and AFC West champion Denver Broncos in Week 16 are prime candidates to receive flex consideration into later time slots.

Three of the Texans' final four games are against division opponents on the road, beginning with the Thursday night contest at Jacksonville. That's followed by a road game at Indianapolis in Week 15 and at the Tennessee Titans to close out the season in Week 17.

After opening at San Diego in Week 1, the Texans face the Titans at home in Week 2. Safety Ed Reed makes his return to Baltimore in Week 3 at the Super Bowl champion Ravens. The Texans take on the Seattle Seahawks in Houston in Week 4 before their Sunday night game at San Francisco.

The Texans host the St. Louis Rams in Week 6 and play at the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7. They have three consecutive home games from Weeks 11-13 against the Oakland Raiders, Jaguars and Patriots.
