With the 2020 slate of opponents all set, it's time to take a gander at how they did at home and on the road during the 2019 regular season.
Of the eight games the Texans will play at NRG Stadium next autumn, only three of their opponents had road records under .500 last year. Three teams, meanwhile, were 6-2 or better on the road. Houston hosts five games in 2020 against teams that were in the playoffs this season. The combined road record of those eight squads was 33-31.
The road portion of Houston's schedule features games against teams that went a combined 32-32 at home. Just two squads were under .500 at home, while only three were above .500. All three of those went 5-3. Only two teams--Tennessee and Kansas City--made the 2019 playoffs. Those two square off for the AFC title this weekend, and Houston beat each on the road in the 2019 regular season.
All told, the combined record of the Texans' 2020 opponents is 132-123-1.
In comparison, this time a year ago, the 2019 opponents for the Texans went a combined 135-121 in 2018. The Texans 2019 opponents went 133-123 this season.
