Jadeveon Clowney expected back for Week 1

After racking up a sack and two tackle-for-loss in a pair of preseason games, Jadeveon Clowney was held out of the Denver contest. He probably won't play against San Francisco on Thursday night, but his head coach thinks the rookie outside linebacker will be ready for the regular season opener.

"I believe that he would be ready for September 7th, as I see it today," Bill O'Brien said. "Clowney's

still day-to-day."

Clowney left last Wednesday's practice in Denver early, and did not suit up for the Saturday night game against the Broncos.

The first regular season game is September 7 at NRG Stadium, against Washington.
