Jadeveon Clowney had surgery yesterday and will miss next week's minicamp. But he won't be out for long.
"He'll be ready to go for training camp," head coach Bill O'Brien said on Friday.
Clowney missed Thursday and Friday's organized team activities (OTA), and O'Brien said the first round pick had experienced an issue with his groin. O'Brien explained more about the outside
linebacker's absence.
"We sent him to Philadelphia to have it checked out by specialists there," O'Brien said. "We decided the best thing for J.D. and the best thing for our team, and the best thing for our organization was to have sports hernia surgery. So he had that yesterday, he'll be back this afternoon."
The Texans will practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at minicamp, and then return to the practice field in late July for training camp.
