Jadeveon Clowney is "good", will start

Jadeveon Clowney will start at outside linebacker this Sunday.

The first overall pick in the 2014 Draft missed the final two preseason games. But when head coach Bill O'Brien was asked about Clowney's health and availability for Week 1, he said the rookie was "good" and would start against Washington.

The former South Carolina Gamecock practiced with his teammates on Wednesday at the Houston Methodist Training Center.

Despite his limited time on the field, Clowney and defensive end J.J. Watt have made an impression on Washington quarterback Robert Griffin, III. But Griffin said he and his teammates are focused on what they do.

"We're all talented guys and we understand that you're going to play great players," Griffin said. "It's not about how they play but it's about how you play and how you respond to certain things. Our guys will be ready."

Clowney had three tackles for loss, a sack and a quarterback hit in limited action during the first two preseason games at Arizona and home against Atlanta.
