Jadeveon Clowney unlikely to play vs. Jaguars

Jadeveon Clowney missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, and will likely be out for this weekend's game against the Jaguars.

"Jadeveon probably will not play on Sunday," head coach Bill O'Brien said on Thursday afternoon.

Clowney left the win at Tennessee with a second half foot injury. He finished with a tackle and a batted pass in the victory over the Titans. On the season, he's logged 4.5 sacks, 40 tackles and six batted passes.

While his head coach said Clowney won't likely suit up, the outside linebacker remains optimistic.

We're trying now to get me out there now. There's still time, taking it easy, one day at a time. Who knows? Sunday is a few days away, so you never know."

The first overall pick in 2014 has missed a couple of games in 2015 due to injury. Despite the timing, he's remained optimistic.

"It's football and injuries happen," Clowney said. "You just got to prepare yourself to get better and get back, so you can get back out there with your team as soon as possible."

The Texans and Jacksonville kick off at noon CT inside NRG Stadium this Sunday.
