Joe Mixon delivered an outstanding debut season with the Houston Texans in 2024, finishing with 245 carries for 1,016 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. The all-purpose back added 36 receptions for 309 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown, showcasing his versatility out of the backfield.

In his Texans debut against the Colts, Mixon recorded his third-highest career rushing output in a single game, collecting 159 yards and a touchdown in a 29–27 win, earning AFC Offensive Player of the Week. He consistently found the end zone throughout the season and became the only player in NFL history to log 100 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in six consecutive road games.

Mixon's 2024 campaign solidifies his position among the NFL's top running backs. His consistency and ability to contribute as a rusher, receiver, and blocker showed why the Texans moved to acquire him from the Cincinnati Bengals. Mixon's performances put him over the 1,000 yard mark on the ground for the fifth time in his career and earned him a second career Pro Bowl nod. The running back's final home showing last season was typically impactful as he collected 106 yards and a touchdown in a Wild Card win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

There is little doubt H-Town's #28 is deserving of his place in the NFL's Top 100.
