Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson did not practice again on Thursday, making it increasingly less likely that he plays on Sunday at Cincinnati.

Johnson rehabbed his injured left hamstring in a pool at Reliant Stadium during practice.

"I would say we probably have a pretty good idea (of whether he'll be available on Sunday)," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said after practice. "We'll see. It's a touchy situation because we are very fortnate we came out of it a lot better than we thought. At the same time, how quick do we go back and that type of thing?

"He has gotten good work inside in the last two days. Whether we bring him out here tomorrow will probably be a big deciding point of where we go in the game, so we'll see."

Johnson was injured in the third quarter on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. He missed six games earlier this season with a right hamstring injury. The five-time Pro Bowler ranks third on the Texans in catches (31) and receiving yards (471) despite playing in only six games.

Linebacker Brian Cushing (ribs/knee) also did not practice. Kubiak expects Cushing to practice on Friday and to play against the Bengals. Defensive end Tim Bulman (calf) was the only other Texans player to sit out on Thursday, but Kubiak said he could be on the field Friday.
