Kevin Sumlin has sideline passes for some Texans

The Aggies play Arizona State at NRG Stadium on September 5.

Kevin Sumlin knows he'll have at least four Texans there supporting him.

"We MIGHT be able to find a sideline pass for those guys," the Texas A&M head coach said with a smile on Wednesday.

Punter Shane Lechler, kicker Randy Bullock and receivers EZ Nwachukwu and Travis Labhart all played their college ball at Texas A&M. Sumlin was proud to talk about those former College Station standouts, but also quick to point out that they aren't the only Texans who've checked out an Aggie game.

"You'd be surprised," Sumlin said. "We have our share of Texans that maybe sneak up to Aggieland every now and then to check out football. But certainly coming back here, there'll be at least four guys on the sideline."

Texas A&M and the Sun Devils will square off in the Advocare Texas Kickoff at 8:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, August 5. (BUY TICKETS HERE) Sumlin said that J.J. Watt, who was outstanding for Wisconsin when Bret Bielema coached there, has caught some games at Kyle Field.

"J.J.'s been to a couple games up there," Sumlin said. "He snuck up there. He didn't want to tell Coach Bielema that."

Bielema's now the head coach at Arkansas. The Razorbacks and Aggies play each other on September 26.
