Kicking things off in Mobile

Just arrived in Mobile, Ala., earlier today for the 2009 Under Armour Senior Bowl. Participating players arrived yesterday to check in and meet for initial North and South team meetings. After this morning's National Scouting Weigh-In, where players got their height and weight measured before hundreds of scouts and other observers, the first practices are set to begin any minute now.

From the downtown Renaissance Riverview Hotel, where I'm staying along with all participating players and NFL personnel this week, I'll be heading to the South team's practice session today. Ole Miss left tackle Michael Oher and defensive tackle Peria Jerry, USC linebackers Rey Maualuga, Brian Cushing and Clay Matthews and West Virginia quarterback Pat White are some of the South headliners.

I'll report back later this afternoon.
