Mercilus strip-sack leads to Clowney TD

Jadeveon Clowney picked up his second fumble recovery in as many weeks.

This time, though, he scored.

Whitney Mercilus strip-sacked Tom Brady, and Clowney plucked the ball from the air and roared 22 yards up the left side of the field for a touchdown. It gave the Texans a 20-14 advantage with 6:15 remaining in the second quarter.

"Tom Brady was moving around in the pocket, and we were all pressuring him," Clowney said. "He tried to roll out to the defense's left, and Whitney made a play. Made him pop it up. I just caught it and ran with it."

Clowney had two sacks at that point in the game. It was the first sack of the season for Mercilus. Clowney finished the day with six tackles, four tackles for loss, the two sacks and the fumble recovery for a score. Brady was sacked five times.

In Week 2 at Cincinnati, Clowney picked up a fumble forced by Kareem Jackson and returned it 49 yards before getting tackled by Andy Dalton.

"It felt great," Clowney said his score. "It would've felt better to get this win, though."

The Texans will host the Titans next Sunday at NRG Stadium.

Texans fans showed up in support of their favorite team on Sunday in New England.
