Running back Ryan Moats saw a small window of opportunity and jumped through it in the Texans' 31-10 win at Buffalo on Sunday.

Moats led the Texans' offense with a career-high 23 carries for 126 yards and three touchdowns after filling in for starter Steve Slaton, who left the game in the first half after losing a fumble. Moats also caught two passes for 25 yards, including a 20-yard screen pass.

"Every time I play on the field, I try to give it my heart and give it everything I've got," Moats said Sunday. "That's what I'm all about. Whenever I touch the field, I run hard as I can every time."

As a result of Moats' stellar performance, he has been nominated for FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week honors for Week 8. Voting remains open until Friday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. CT.

Other players nominated for the FedEx Ground award this week include fellow AFC South running backs Chris Johnson (Tennessee Titans) and Maurice Jones-Drew (Jacksonville Jaguars).
