TEXANS TEAM NOTES

THE TEXANS:

  • Recorded a season-high 25 first downs on offense, the team's highest mark since posting 26 first downs vs. Tennessee in Week 17 of the 2020 season
  • Established season highs in net passing yards (317) and passing first downs (16) while committing zero turnovers for the fourth time this season

SCORING PLAYS:

  • 1st Quarter – TE Brevin Jordan caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from QB Davis Mills to conclude a seven-play, 75-yard drive (3:58) and making the score 7-0, Texans, following the converted extra point attempt by K Ka'imi Fairbairn
  • 2nd Quarter – K Ka'imi Fairbairn connected on a 21-yard field goal attempt, capping off a 16-play, 72-yard drive (8:55), tying the game at 10-10
  • 2nd Quarter – K Ka'imi Fairbairn connected on a 61-yard field goal attempt, capping off a six-play, 15-yard drive (0:52), reducing the Seahawks lead to 16-13

RB REX BURKHEAD

  • Led the team with 40 yards on 11 carries (3.6 avg.) and caught four passes for 26 yards (6.5 avg.)

WR NICO COLLINS

  • Recorded career highs with 69 receiving yards and five catches (13.8 avg.)

WR BRANDIN COOKS

  • Finished with 101 receiving yards on eight receptions (12.6 avg.)
  • Eclipsed 100 receiving yards in a single game for the third time this season and the 21st time of his career

WR DAVION DAVIS

  • Recorded his first NFL reception, catching a 17-yard pass from QB Davis Mills on Houston's first possession

WR PHILLIP DORSETT

  • Made his Texans debut, recording one reception for 9 yards and a rushing attempt

K KA'IMI FAIRBAIRN

  • Scored seven points on two made field goals and one made extra point attempt
  • Connected on a 21-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter to tie the game, 10-10
  • Converted a 61-yard field goal in the second quarter to cut the Seahawks lead to 16-13, establishing a new career long, franchise record and NRG Stadium record for longest made field goal
  • Reached 500 career points, joining K Kris Brown (767 points) as the only players to score 500-plus points as a Texan
  • Became the 49th player since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger to reach 500 points in 74 career games or less

RB ROYCE FREEMAN

  • Notched six receptions for a career-high 51 receiving yards
  • Finished with 11 carries for 15 yards (1.5 avg.)

DL JONATHAN GREENARD

  • Finished with four tackles (one solo) and one pass defensed
  • Joined T.J. Watt and Brian Burns as the only NFL players with 8.0 sacks, nine tackles for loss and four passes defensed this season

LB KAMU GRUGIER-HILL

  • Finished second on the team with six tackles (five solo), also tallying two tackles for loss and one pass defensed
  • Now has 12 tackles for loss on the season, the most in Texans history by a linebacker in a season's first 13 games
  • At the completion of the Week 14 noon slate, was tied with Matt Milano for the most tackles for loss by an off-ball linebacker this season

P CAMERON JOHNSTON

  • Punted five times for 229 yards and a 48.5 avg. with a long of 58 yards, pinning one punt inside the 20

TE BREVIN JORDAN

  • Finished with 26 receiving yards on four receptions (6.5 avg) and one touchdown
  • Caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from QB Davis Mills in the first quarter to give the Texans a 7-0 lead

DB DESMOND KING II

  • Finished third on the team with five tackles (three solo)

LB CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY

  • Led the team with 10 tackles (five solo), his third game with double-digit tackles this season

QB DAVIS MILLS

  • Completed 33-of-49 passes (67.3 percent) for a career-high 331 yards, one touchdown and a 93.2 rating
  • Threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to TE Brevin Jordan in the first quarter to give the Texans a 7-0 lead
  • Completed a franchise-record 14 consecutive passes to open the game, marking the most consecutive pass completions to start a game by a rookie quarterback since at least the 1991 season
