The Texans are dealing with a few injuries coming off their 38-14 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Backup safety Quintin Demps is out indefinitely with a broken forearm. Starting right guard Antoine Caldwell has a sprained ankle and is day-to-day. Running back Ben Tate has a toe injury and did not participate in Monday's walk-through practice.

Demps had surgery on his left arm on Monday, a week after having surgery on his right thumb.

"He's got a couple of casts, one on each side," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said. "He's going to miss some time. It's not a season-ending situation. I'll know more when he does come out of the surgery and everything is done. He's not totally finished yet."

The Texans could sign another safety to bolster their depth behind Danieal Manning and Glover Quin. Demps played on 53 percent (99 of 186) of the Texans' defensive snaps through the first three games. Shiloh Keo left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury but practiced on Monday.

"That's something we got to sit down and talk about," Kubiak said. "Keo obviously moves up. We got (undrafted rookie Eddie Pleasant) on our practice squad. We take a look at what's out there from that standpoint. The good news is we got a couple days to deal with that, and it will probably be dealt with tomorrow at some point."

Caldwell left Sunday's game early in the second quarter and did not return. He walked off the field gingerly with the help of teammates Chris Myers and Duane Brown on both sides. Rookie Ben Jones, who rotated with Caldwell in Weeks 2 and 3, played the rest of the game.

"(Caldwell) went back on the (sideline) the second half," Kubiak said. "He could have went in had we got in trouble. I think he's going to be day-to-day, and we do have an extra day of rest for him this week, so I'll have to let you guys know come Thursday."

The severity of Tate's toe issue is not yet known. Justin Forsett would be the backup running back if Tate is to miss any time.

"Ben's got a toe bothering him," Kubiak said. "We're getting some X-rays on that, and we'll find out where we're at on Thursday."
