Reports: Texans interviewed Lovie Smith

According to reports from John McClain of the Houston Chronicle and Mark Berman of KRIV/FOX-26, the Texans interviewed Lovie Smith for the head coaching position.

Smith was head coach of the Chicago Bears from 2004 to 2012 and compiled a record of 81-63 (.563). He was 3-3 in the playoffs, guiding the Bears to the Super Bowl in 2006 and the NFC title game in 2010.

The Texans don't officially comment on interviews or personnel changes until after they're made official.

Wade Phillips has served as the interim head coach of the Texans since Gary Kubiak was relieved of his duties on December 6.
