For the second week in a row, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has been nominated as one of the finalists for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week award. The other finalists include New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington.

In the Texans' 35-6 win over Cincinnati, Schaub completed 24-of-28 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns. He had a career-best 144.0 quarterback rating. The victory gave Houston its first-ever three-game win streak.

A week earlier in Houston's win over Detroit, Schaub was nominated for FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week honors after completing 26-of-31 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns.

To begin the win streak against Miami, Schaub threw for 379 yards and led the Texans' offense to a club-record 485 net yards of offense.

Fan votes determine the winner, and voting already has begun. The voting closes Friday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. CT.
