For the fifth time this season, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has been nominated as one of the finalists for the FedEx Air Player of the Week award. The other finalists are Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

To earn his nomination, Schaub led the Texans to a 31-24 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday in the regular season finale at Reliant Stadium. He completed 27-of-36 passes for 328 yards and two touchdowns in the victory to finish the year with 3,043 passing yards in only 11 games.

{QUOTE}"I thought I played pretty well," Schaub said. "But in order for me to do that, there's gotta be 10 other guys who are doing their thing. The offensive linemen, they were fighting. That's a good defensive line they were facing, bringing some pressure, and they were handling it. Our guys down the field were making plays down the football field for us, so it was everybody doing their job. I felt like our offense did some good things in the second quarter."

Schaub finishes the season ranked fourth in the NFL in completion percentage, converting 66.1 percent of his throws.

Fan votes determine the winner, and voting already has begun. The voting closes Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 5 p.m. CT.
