Former Texans center Steve McKinney will announce the team's second-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft on Friday, April 26.

McKinney was one of 32 NFL alumni selected to announce picks from the podium at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Among the others chosen are six Pro Football Hall of Famers, including three from the Class of 2013.

An original Texan, McKinney was the first unrestricted free agent to be signed in team history in March 2002. He started the first 67 games in franchise history and was with the team until 2007. A Galveston native who grew up in Houston, McKinney was a third-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 1998 out of Texas A&M.

The tradition of NFL alumni announcing picks started in 2011. Former Texans cornerback Aaron Glenn announced the team's selection of Brooks Reed in the second round of that year's draft. Former Texans linebacker Danny Clark announced the pick of DeVier Posey in the third round at the 2012 draft.
