Texans acquire Akeem Dent

The Houston Texans have acquired LB Akeem Dent from the Atlanta Falcons in a trade for QB TJ Yates pending both players reporting and passing each club's physicals.

Dent (6-1, 239) is entering his fourth season in the NFL.  The former Georgia Bulldog was selected in the third round by the Falcons in the 2011 NFL Draft.  He has appeared in 47 career games, starting 20.  He has 136 total career tackles.

The Atlanta-native started seven games last season amassing 51 tackles.  His best season came in 2012 when he started a career-high 13 games at middle linebacker for the NFC South Champion Falcons, making 65 tackles, 42 of which were solo stops.
