Texans cut roster to 52 players

HOUSTON – The Houston Texans have made the following roster moves, it was announced today.* *

         The
         Houston Texans waived the following players:

Lavell Boyd, WR, Louisville

Roger Chanoine, OL, Temple

Patrick Chukwurah, LB, Wyoming

Carey Clayton, OL, Texas-El Paso

Jason Davis, DL, West Virginia

JaJuan Dawson, WR, Tulane

Demarcus Faggins, CB, Kansas State

Atnaf Harris, WR, Cal St.-Northridge

Jason Lamar, LB, Toledo

Jonas Lewis, RB, San Diego State

John Minardi, WR, Colorado

Shantee Orr, LB, Michigan

David Pruce, OL, Buffalo

Antonio Rodriguez, LB, Monterry Tech

Ryan Schau, OL, Illinois

Gannon Shepherd, OL, Duke

Glenn Sumter, S, Memphis

Justin Swift, TE, Kansas State

Terrell Washington, LB, Illinois

Shawn Worthen, DL, Texas Christian

Keith Wright, DL, Missouri

         The
         Texans also placed tight end Bennie
             Joppru on the Reserved/Injured list. The Texans' active roster
         is now set at 52. They can add one player to the roster to increase
         it to a maximum of 53. A practice squad of five players will be
         named later this week.
