Texans fall to Broncos 27-9

In Brock Osweiler's return to Denver on Monday Night Football, the Texans fell 27-9 to the Broncos.
Despite remaining within one score until late in the third quarter, Houston's offense struggled to gain momentum and were held to just three field goals. The Texans committed two costly fumbles that contributed to 10 unanswered points by the Broncos in the second half.
Running backs Lamar Miller and Alfred Blue each had 11 carries and led the Texans offense. Miller rushed for 61 yards, while Blue added 63. Osweiler was 22-of-41 for 131 yards. DeAndre Hopkins led the receivers with five catches for 36 yards.  
The Texans defense held Denver to three-and-out on six of their 12 possessions, while keeping the Broncos 3-of-11 on third down. A.J. Bouye had a team-high 11 tackles, nine solo, and two passes defensed.  
Trevor Siemian completed 14-of-25 passes for 157 yards and one touchdown. The duo of C.J Anderson and Devontae Booker rushed for 190 yards and each scored a touchdown.
The Texans took an early 6-0 lead in the first quarter with a pair of field goals, both from 43 yards. Houston's defense allowed just one first down and 15 net yards of passing through the first quarter. 
Denver scored 14 unanswered points on back-to-back drives in the second quarter after the run game, consisting of C.J. Anderson and rookie Devontae Booker, gained momentum. Following the Texans second field goal, the Broncos took their first lead of the night after C.J. Anderson's 7-yard touchdown run. 
Booker added three carries for 30 yards on Denver's next offensive series. Emmanuel Sanders caught a 29-yard pass from Siemian to give Denver possession at the Houston four-yard line. Three plays later, Siemian threw a four-yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas as the Broncos took a 14-6 lead with 4:04 left in the second quarter and heading into halftime.
Houston's defense held Denver to two back-to-back three-and-outs to start the third quarter. On the Texans first possession of the second half, a defensive pass interference on Denver moved the ball to the Broncos 28-yard line. Novak added his third field goal of the day, a 29-yard kick. The Texans trailed 14-9 with 9:12 left in the third quarter.
A pair of turnovers would end the next two Texans drives and lead to 10 Broncos points. After a fumble by Alfred Blue, Booker scored on a one-yard touchdown run to cap a 7-play, 72-yard scoring drive with 0:45 left in the third quarter.
On the Texans next offensive series, Osweiler's fumble led to a 22-yard Broncos field goal. Denver pulled away with a 24-9 lead with 11:36 left in the fourth quarter.  
Brandon McManus kicked a 32-yard field goal after the Texans failed to convert fourth-and-10 from its own 34-yard line, late in the fourth quarter. 
With the loss, the Texans fell to 4-3 on the season and return to NRG Stadium to host the Detroit Lions Sunday.
