Texans make roster moves

HOUSTON – The Houston Texans made the following roster moves, it was announced today. They re-signed LB Jimmy McClain, signed LB Justin Seaverns to the practice squad and waived LB Armegis Spearman.* *

McClain (6-0, 231) was the lone undrafted free agent to make the Texans season-opening roster in 2002 out of Troy State. After playing in 15 games as a rookie, McClain tallied eight special teams tackles, forced a safety and blocked a punt that resulted in a Texans touchdown.*He was one of the final cuts for the Texans in 2003 (9-2-03). * **

Seaverns (6-1, 225) originally signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent (4-26-02) out of Appalachian State. He played the first eight games of the 2002 season on the Indianapolis Colts practice squad before the Dolphins singed him to their 53-man roster on November 6. He spent the final eight games of the 2002 season on the Dolphin's practice squad.

         Spearman
         (6-2, 251) spent the 2001 season 
         (torn pectoral muscle in 2001 preseason finale) and part of
         the 2002 season (high ankle sprain, 10-27-02) on Injured Reserve for
         the Cincinnati Bengals.
