Texans Sign Jerrell Powe

The Houston Texans signed free agent NT Jerrell Powe, it was announced today. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Powe (6-2, 331) spent his first three NFL seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, playing in 12 games and totaling eight tackles and one sack. He was selected by the Chiefs in the sixth-round of the 2011 draft following his collegiate career at Mississippi, where he played in 37 games and earned All-Southeastern Conference second-team honors as a senior in 2010.

The former Parade All-American played in the U.S. Army All-America Bowl following his career at Wayne County High School in Waynesboro, Miss.
