Texans to Open 2021 Season at Home vs. Jaguars

The Houston Texans will host the Jacksonville Jaguars to open the 2021 regular season. Kickoff is set for September 12 at 12:00 p.m. CT.

The Texans won both games against Jacksonville in 2020. In Week 5, the Texans triumphed, 30-14, over the Jaguars at NRG Stadium. In the last 10 matchups against the Jaguars at NRG Stadium, the Texans are 8-2.

Jacksonville finished fourth in the AFC South last year, going 1-15.

Urban Meyer is the new head coach of the Jaguars, and he won NCAA titles at Florida in 2006 and 2008, and Ohio State in 2014. This is his first NFL coaching job.

The Texans have played Jacksonville 38 times in franchise history, and own a 25-13 record against the Jaguars. Houston's won the last six meetings, and since Week 17 of 2010 is 17-4 in the series. 10 of those 17 victories have been by 10 or more points.

Texans WR Chris Conley caught a combined 87 passes for 1,246 yards and seven scores for Jacksonville in 2019 and 2020.
