The Texans will have the 27th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

The four Divisional Playoff participants not advancing to the conference championship games select 25th through 28th, based on reverse order of their standing. The Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers, who both went 11-5 in the regular season, pick 25th and 26th, respectively. The Texans (12-4) pick next, followed by the Denver Broncos (13-3).

This will be the lowest draft slot in Texans history. They picked 26th overall in 2012 after going 10-6 in 2011 and losing in the Divisional Round at Baltimore. They selected outside linebacker Jason Babin 27th overall in 2004, a pick they acquired via trade after selecting cornerback Dunta Robinson 10th overall.

Among the notable players drafted 27th overall are Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino (1983), tight end Mark Bruener (1995), Pro Bowl running back Larry Johnson (2003), Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White (2005) and Pro Bowl running back DeAngelo Williams (2006).

The 2013 NFL Draft is set for April 25-27.
