The Day After: O'Brien on Osweiler's performance

Bill O'Brien liked what he saw from Brock Osweiler on Saturday night.

"I thought he played well," the head coach said of during a Sunday press conference at NRG Stadium. "I thought he commanded the offense well."

Osweiler threw a 19-yard touchdown to rookie receiver Will Fuller with 9:57 remaining in the opening

quarter. He completed 19-of-24 passes for 124 yards on the night. O'Brien described the Texans' plan of attack against New Orleans.

"One of the things we wanted to do in this game was open it up a little bit," O'Brien said. "We threw the ball down the field a little bit more. We hadn't done that in the San Francisco game. The guy throws a nice deep ball."

Osweiler and the Texans return to the practice field on Monday. They'll host the Cardinals next Sunday at NRG Stadium in their third preseason game.
