The Thomas duo stakes Texans to early lead

Thomas came up big on the first drive for the Texans.

Demaryius Thomas, that is. As well as Jordan Thomas.

The two aren't related, but the receiver and tight end for Houston caught a combined three passes for 56 yards and a score on the Texans' opening possession at Denver.

The former Bronco took a wide receiver screen pass from Deshaun Watson for a 31-yard gain, and then caught a pass over the middle on the next play for a pickup of 18. That got the Texans offense into the red zone, and after a pair of runs, Watson found the rookie tight in the left corner of the end zone, and he made a tough catch for the score.

It was his third touchdown in the last two games, and after the Ka'imi Fairbairn extra point, it gave the Texans a 7-0 advantage with 10:53 left in the first quarter.

The drive began with a Lamar Miller run for nine yards. Watson also chipped in with a scramble for six yards the play before the touchdown pass.
