Week 12 Fantasy Picks

Quarterback Matt Schaub is a smart fantasy pick in Week 12 of the Home Team Challenge.

In Week 12 of the **Home Team Challenge**, the free fantasy football game with great prizes on HoustonTexans.com, the winning player gets to attend Gary Kubiak's weekly Monday press conference in the Texans' team auditorium.

Remember to pick your new team each week, and don't forget there's an earlier deadline this time around because the Lions host the Packers on Thanksgiving at 11:30 a.m. central.

Use 300 points to construct a squad. For example: In Week 12, Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers is again the most expensive player points-wise, and he'll set you back 84 points. But if you're strapped for points elsewhere, you could always snap Tennessee fullback Ahmard Hall for just a single point.

Here's my absolute…airtight…110%...guaranteedyouwillwinoryoucankeymyMercedesBenzlimo weekly fantasy advice, with a few players I like and a few players I don't.

PRICE IS RIGHT RB Chris Johnson, TEN, 64 (vs. ARI) The NFL's rushing leader cracked the 1,000 yard barrier two games ago, and has gone for at least 128 yards rushing in each of the last five games, running for six scores in that span. He's also a weapon catching the ball, with 30 catches for 262 yards and a touchdown in 2009. He and the Titans are back at home, on a roll, and feeling confident after a Monday night triumph over the Texans. Look for another big day from Johnson.

VALUE PICK QB Carson Palmer, CIN, 60 (vs. CLE) For the second straight week, the value pick is a quarterback taking on the Cleveland defense. In Week 11, we were on the money with Matthew Stafford, as the Lions' field marshal shredded the Browns for 422 yards and five touchdowns. Palmer's a much better quarterback than the rookie Stafford, he's playing at home, and looking to bounce back after falling on the road in Oakland. Book on Palmer to light up Cleveland, and it'll cost you 24 points less than choosing Aaron Rodgers.

NOT WORTH IT Saints Defense, 41 (vs. NE) They're taking on the Patriots, who have turned the ball over just 10 times this season, and allowed 14 sacks. So the New Orleans defense won't likely win you many points with turnovers and sacks, and they certainly are going to give up chunks of yardage to Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Wes Welker. Stay away from the Saints.

SLEEPER SPECIAL WR Robert Meachem, 23 (vs. NE) The young receiver caught a pair of touchdown passes Sunday against the Buccaneers, has caught a touchdown in three straight games now, and is tied for the team lead in scoring receptions with six. Anybody that finds the end zone consistently, and is valued at just 23 points is a sleeper. Give Meachem a look if you're pinched for points.

TEXANS FANTASY STARTER OF THE WEEK QB Matt Schaub, 72, (vs. IND) The Texans signal caller continues to pump out the fantasy numbers, as he tossed a pair of touchdowns and rang up more than 300 yards passing against the Titans. That will continue against the Colts, and he should keep his numbers rolling in a big contest.
