Week 13 Fantasy Picks

Quarterback Matt Schaub is primed for a breakout against the Jaguars in Week 13 of the Home Team Challenge.

In Week 13 of the **Home Team Challenge**, the free fantasy football game with great prizes on HoustonTexans.com, the winning player gets a lunch for four in the team cafeteria with four Houston Texans Cheerleaders.

Remember to pick your new team each week, and don't forget to pick your team by 6 p.m. central time on Thursday evening, since the Bills host the Jets that night at 7 p.m.

Use 300 points to construct a squad. For example: In Week 13, Drew Brees of New Orleans and Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers are the most expensive players points-wise, and will set you back 85 points. But if you want to skimp at the quarterback spot (not a good idea), you could always select Todd Collins of Washington for just a point. Good luck with that.

Here's my absolute…airtight…110%...guaranteedyouwillwinoryoucankeymyMercedesBenzlimo weekly fantasy advice, with a few players I like and a few players I don't.

PRICE IS RIGHT QB Drew Brees, NO, 85 (@WAS) After putting up a whopping 44 points in Week 12 of the Home Team Challenge, by virtue of his five touchdown throws and 371 yards passing, stick with the hot hand and take Brees against the woeful Redskins. Yes he's on the road, yes the 'Skins defense isn't atrocious, but Brees and the Saints have met all comers this season and stand to do more of the same Sunday at FedEx Field.

VALUE PICK RB Ricky Williams, MIA, 44 (vs. NE) In the last three games, Williams has cracked the century mark rushing, and scored a combined four touchdowns. He faces a Patriots' defense coming off a short week after their Monday night throttling by the Saints, that has to travel south for the second week in a row. Plus, even if he doesn't rack up the yardage running the football, he still benefits from the Wildcat formation and the different ways he gets the football around the goal line with it.

NOT WORTH IT K Nate Kaeding, SD, 31 (@ CLE) First of all, I would never spend 31 points on a kicker. Second, Kaeding is on the road in Cleveland this weekend where the temps will be in the 30's, with a 20% chance of precipitation. Not the greatest recipe for a kicker, so don't waste your money on Kaeding.

SLEEPER SPECIAL TE James Casey/TE Joel Dreessen, HOU, 2 (@ JAX) Both Texans tight ends are only valued at two points this week, yet quarterback Matt Schaub has thrown their way the last few contests, and the tight end spot hasn't caught a touchdown since Owen Daniels pulled in a 42-yard score in the second quarter of the win against the 49ers. That's a long time without a score at the tight end position, in an offense that utilizes multiple tight end sets often times down in the red zone.

TEXANS FANTASY STARTER OF THE WEEK QB Matt Schaub, 71, (@ JAX) This is a proverbial "backs against the wall" type of game for the Texans, and Schaub will respond. He's near the league lead in touchdown passes and yardage, and has rewarded fantasy owners on a consistent basis this season. Look for a big game out of Schaub Sunday against the Jaguars.
