Week 14 Fantasy Picks

Texans wideout Andre Johnson is a smart pick in this week's Home Team Challenge.

In Week 14 of the **Home Team Challenge**, the free fantasy football game with great prizes on HoustonTexans.com, the winning player gets an autographed football signed by Texans tight end Owen Daniels.

Remember to pick your new team each week, and don't forget to set your lineup by 6 p.m. CT on Thursday evening, since the Browns host the Steelers that night at 7 p.m.

Use 300 points to construct a squad. For example: In Week 14, Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers is the most expensive player points-wise and will set you back 93 points. But if you want to skimp at the quarterback spot (not a good idea), you could always select Miami's Pat White.

Here's my absolute…airtight…110%...guaranteedyouwillwinoryoucankeymyMercedesBenzlimo weekly fantasy advice, with a few players I like and a few players I don't.

PRICE IS RIGHT RB Ricky Williams, MIA, 51 (@ JAC) In what could also go down as a value pick, Williams is right at 51 points because he's bound to get the football at least 20 times. Plus, he's scored 11 touchdowns this season running and catching the football, and figures to be featured in the Wildcat a little more often this week than last.

VALUE PICK WR Wes Welker, NE, 39 (vs. CAR) Wes "The Slot Machine" Welker may as well be Rodney Dangerfield. He gets no respect. The guy is second in the league in receiving yards, just five behind teammate Randy Moss. He's third in yards per punt return with 13.9. Yet you can snap him up for just 39 points. He's picked up at least 80 yards receiving in eight of the 10 games he's played this season, and his quarterback Tom Brady has complete and total trust that Welker's good for seven yards in a pinch. Take Welker and you won't be sorry.

NOT WORTH IT QB Tony Romo, DAL, 73 (vs. SD) His career troubles in December are well-publicized and with a white-hot Chargers club coming to Dallas, there's an excellent chance he turns in a two-pick, one touchdown performance this Sunday. Don't be fooled by his good fantasy numbers the last two weeks. This Chargers team is a lot better than the Giants and Raiders clubs he faced in that span.

SLEEPER SPECIAL RB Frank Gore, SF, 43 (vs. ARI) He hasn't exactly lit it up points-wise this year, so look out for Gore in a typical "must-win" type of game for the 5-7 49ers. He scored a pair of touchdowns against the Cardinals in a Week 1 victory in Arizona this season, and he's averaging better than five catches per contest over the last six weeks. The 49ers offense is playing much better in the second half of the season, and the threat of Gore is a big reason why.

TEXANS FANTASY STARTER OF THE WEEK WR Andre Johnson, HOU, 42 (vs. SEA) It will likely be a long day for Seahawks corners Marcus Trufant and Ken Lucas. Neither veteran is playing like he used to, and neither guy fared well against Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald, as TORITSSAD ("The Only Receiver in the Same Stratosphere as 'Dre") had a combined 20 receptions for 273 yards and a pair of touchdowns in his two games this year versus the Seahawks. Johnson will score points this weekend.
