Week 6 fantasy picks

4091.jpg

TE Owen Daniels (81) and WR Andre Johnson (80) are safe picks this week in the Home Team Challenge.

In Week 6 of the **Home Team Challenge**, the free fantasy football game with great prizes on HoustonTexans.com, the winning player receives a tour for four of Reliant Stadium and a 40 percent discount at the Go Texan Store afterward.

Remember to pick your new team each week and use 300 points to construct a squad. For example: this week, Drew Brees is the most expensive player points-wise, costing you 77 points. If you want to skimp at the QB spot and go cheap, Raiders signal-caller JaMarcus Russell is yours for a mere 24 points.

Here's my absolute…airtight…110%...guaranteedyouwillwinoryoucankeymyMercedesBenzlimo weekly fantasy advice, with a few players I like and a few players I don't.

PRICE IS RIGHT WR Andre Johnson, HOU, 44, (@ CIN) Look at what Johnson's averaging over the last four games: six catches for 100.5 yards and a touchdown per. That's production. The Bengals' defense has allowed Donald Driver to catch six passes for 99 yards, Mohamed Massaquoi eight passes for 148 yards, and Mike Wallace seven balls for 102 yards. That's a 34-year-old and a pair of rookies who have put up big numbers against Cincy. If they can do that, imagine what the NFL's best receiver can do.

VALUE PICK QB Donovan McNabb, PHI, 49, (@OAK) McNabb torched the Buccaneers last weekend for three touchdown passes, and he and the Eagles get to beat up on the downtrodden Raiders in Week 6. He practiced Wednesday, so he'll play Sunday. When he's played in 2009, he's played very well: McNabb has a QB rating of 123.2. Take McNabb, watch the points roll in and spend more elsewhere.

NOT WORTH IT QB Drew Brees, NO, 77 (vs. NYG) I'm not wild about any quarterback that faces the Giants' pass rush, so I'm certainly not wild about spending 77 points on Brees. He will get some yardage, but he'll likely get beat up in the process when these two undefeated clubs clash in the Superdome. Don't pour your points into Brees. Go someplace else.

SLEEPER SPECIAL RB Steven Jackson, STL, 37 (@ JAC) It's a sad state of affairs for Steven Jackson when he's called a "sleeper." But he's playing for a putrid Rams ballclub and still nobly playing well. Jackson has a pair of 100-plus yard games so far and is averaging 4.3 yards a carry. The number that leaps out at me, however, is his touchdown total: 0. That scoring drought stops this weekend against a Jaguars ballclub that struggled mightily against the Seahawks last week.

TEXANS FANTASY STARTER OF THE WEEK TE Owen Daniels, HOU, 24 (@ CIN) A reliable target for Matt Schaub, Daniels consistently helps the Texans' offense move the chains, and more often than not, he finds himself in position to score a touchdown. He'll do both—move the chains for yardage, and score—this weekend in The Jungle.
