Week 7 fantasy picks

QB Matt Schaub looks to continue his passing-game heroics in Week 7 against the 49ers.

In Week 7 of the **Home Team Challenge**, the free fantasy football game with great prizes on HoustonTexans.com, the winning player receives the Madden 2010 video game on PS3 or Xbox 360.

Remember to pick your new team each week and use 300 points to construct a squad. For example: In Week 7, Drew Brees is the most expensive player points-wise, costing you a whopping 83 points. But if you're strapped for points elsewhere, try Miami fullback Lousaka Polite (in the RB section) for just one point.

Here's my absolute…airtight…110%...guaranteedyouwillwinoryoucankeymyMercedesBenzlimo weekly fantasy advice, with a few players I like and a few players I don't.

PRICE IS RIGHT QB Peyton Manning, IND, 81, (@ STL) This is as close to a lock as you can get. Manning will TORCH the Rams this weekend. Indianapolis is clicking, and they're playing a quick plane ride away in a domed stadium against a reeling Rams ballclub. Don't be surprised if Manning tosses four touchdowns and cracks the 400-yard mark. A cost of 81 points is a pittance for Peyton.

VALUE PICK QB Eli Manning, NYG, 56, (vs. ARI) For the second time this season, the Manning brothers are the "Price is Right"/"Value Pick" daily double, and this week's scenario is an interesting one. The Cardinals' defense allowed Matt Schaub to throw for 371 yards and a pair of scores two weeks ago, and Peyton Manning 379 yards and four touchdowns four weeks ago. Now, they have to travel cross country and take on a New York squad smarting from a blowout loss last weekend in New Orleans. Eli will bounce back and bounce back in a big way against the Cards. And if you pick him, you're only out 56 points.

NOT WORTH IT RB Adrian Peterson, MIN, 57, (@ PIT) I love Adrian Peterson, but I don't love him this week. The law of averages says that that the Vikes pick up their first loss of the season on the road against a Pittsburgh rush defense that allows just 75 yards a game. Peterson will get his carries, but I don't know that he'll get the yardage and touchdowns necessary to justify spending 57 points. Pass on Peterson this week.

SLEEPER SPECIAL TE Jeremy Shockey, NO, 22, (@ MIA) Not sure a guy as noteworthy and flamboyant as Shockey can ever be a true "sleeper," but at just 22 points I like this pick. He's second on the Saints in receptions and touchdown catches and he's a solid weapon for Brees. Plus, the former Hurricane is back in Miami for the weekend, so don't sleep on Shockey.

TEXANS FANTASY STARTER OF THE WEEK WR Matt Schaub, HOU, 69, (vs. SF) Roll with the hot hand. Schaub leads the NFL in touchdown passes and figures to add to his total this weekend against a San Francisco defense that was exposed by second-year quarterback Matt Ryan and Atlanta two weeks ago before their bye. Schaub's at home and the offense has clicked for the last three halves of football, and I expect it to continue this weekend.
