Week 9 fantasy recap

In Week 9 of the Home Team Challenge, "Texan527" knew what he had to do to win. It wasn't concentrating on defense or running the ball effectively. It was to score more points than the rest of the competitors in the free Texans Fantasy Football League.

"Texan527" did just that, scoring 130 points on their way to the Week 9 victory. Big games from DST Falcons (26 pts) and quarterback Kurt Warner (25 pts) helped propel the "Texan527" to victory. "Texan527" is now the proud owner of an autographed football signed by Texans running back Steve Slaton.

Make sure to get those lineups set this week for your chance to win an autographed mini-helmet signed by Texans defensive tackle Amobi Okoye.

In Texans Celebrity League action, KHOU/Channel 11's Butch Alsandor's "Saints" had forgotten what it felt like to win as they had not been worthy of wearing the championship belt since Week 3. Butch missed the Gatorade showers, jamming out to Queen's "We are the Champions" on the drive home and the pure joy he and his players felt after that early-season victory.

Butch got the winning feeling back after his team's 118-point outburst in Week 9.

"I'm like the Dr. Evil of Fantasy Football," he said. "I might not look intimidating, but my players are like sharks with freakin' laser beams attached to their heads."

With the lethal combination of DST Falcons (26 pts), Warner (25 pts) and running back Adrian Peterson (19 pts), Butch's "Saints" were well ahead of the pack. SportsRadio 610's Marc Vandermeer's "Rock and Roll" took home second place with 102 points, and third-place honors went to Ralph Cooper's "kcohcolts" of KCOH Radio 1430 AM with 97 points.

The top-three are pretty consistent with a bit of shuffling going on, but TORO is still the leader. Brooke Bentley and Adam Wexler are closing in fast on him.

Here are the top-three standings in the Celebrity League:

  1. TORO (TORO'S Ballers) – 887 points
  2. Adam Wexler (Wexler's Warriors) – 859 points
  3. Brooke Bentley (B Squared) – 852 points
