Robert Breiding is in his second season as security coordinator for the Houston Texans after serving as a security consultant since the team's inception in 2002. A distinguished 35-year veteran of the Houston Police Department (HPD), Breiding retired in May 2019 to join the Texans in a full-time capacity. He is primarily responsible for coordinating security measures surrounding all games and team travel in addition to assisting the scouting staff with gathering information on draft prospects.
Breiding, who joined HPD in February 1984, was consistently recognized for exceeding performance benchmarks during his career and received over 30 commendations from the Chief of Police, Assistant Chief of Police, supervisors and citizens. Over his law enforcement career, Breiding served as a patrol officer, S.W.A.T. perimeter team member, field performance evaluator/instructor, mobility incident management division officer, narcotics operation control center officer and criminal intelligence division communications intelligence unit officer.
Breiding attended Houston Community College and Oklahoma State University. He holds certifications in a variety of specialized law enforcement fields as a result of over 4,700 hours of training.
Breiding resides in Spring, Texas with his wife, Annabella.
